Kayla McArthur

Kayla began skating when she was 16 months old, with the help of Aunt Tiffany Bogden and her parents.  She has been competing for six years, and has advanced to the Junior World Class level in both figures and loops, which is the highest competitive level for her age group.  Her goal this year is to qualify for the US World Team and travel to China for international competition.

Kayla says, “I love the way I feel when I’m out on the floor skating.  It’s the best part of my day.”  Since her parents first put skates on her feet, Kayla has never wanted to take them off!

Kayla is in ninth grade at Cedar Cliff High School.  She enjoys spending time with family, friends, shopping, and babysitting.

Jaye Winemiller

As the newest competitive member of the club, Jaye began taking figure lessons in November last year.  She attended a competition in Reading, thought it looked interesting, and decided to give roller skating a try.  .

Jaye’s favorite part of skating is enjoying time at the rink with friends.  Making the change from session skating on inlines to figure skating on quads was challenging, but Jaye’s artistic career is off to a good start with two first place finishes in her first competitive event.

Until recently, only Jaye’s closest friends knew she was roller skating.  She told others she was “playing baseball”! Jaye is in sixth grade at Lamberton Middle School.  She likes going to school and listening to music, and has won several photography awards.

Jolie Winemiller

Jolie always enjoyed recreational skating at school parties, but wanted to do more.  She began taking figures and freestyle lessons from Tiffany Bogden in February 2007, and entered her first competition last November.

To date, Jolie’s proudest accomplishment in skating is learning to land her jumps – the flip, lutz, salchow, loop and mapes.  Her skating goals are to qualify to compete in Juvenile Figure events at Nationals this year, and both Figures and Freestyle next year.

Jolie is in fifth grade at North Dickinson Elementary School.  She likes to sing and perform, play with her pets, and spend time with friends.
